Life Members
Our association has a number of life members who have made extraordinary commitments to our association and its people. These individuals have demonstrated the qualities of leadership and dedication, and have been selfless in their commitment to further our association and all of its members.
The proud Life Members of the Football Federation Australia, Far North Coast Referees Incorporated are:
Charlie Sourry
Joined the Lismore ‘Soccer’ Football Referees in 1962 and was a member for 31 years.
Charlie held the position of President from 1980-1985 and Vice President from 1985-1988. He was delegate to all other ‘Soccer’ Football Association from 1980-1984.
Charlie became a Life Member in 1977 and died in the year 2000.
Robert George Beaumont
Joined the Lismore ‘Soccer’ Football Referees in 1962 and was a member for 17 years. He held the position of Secretary Treasurer for 17 years.
Robert became a Life Member in 1979. He is also a Life Member of Football Far North Coast.
Robert died in the year 1986.
Reginald Wiffen
Joined the Lismore ‘Soccer’ Football Referees in 1965 and was a member for 17 years. He held the position of Treasurer from 1978-1981.
Reginald became a Life Member in 1979.
He died in the year 2000.
Alistair Watts
Joined the Lismore ‘Soccer’ Football Referees in 1965 and was a member for 14 years.
He held the position of President from 1975-1980 and Vice President from 1980-1981, as well as being a member of the Appointments Panel in 1979.
Alistair became a Life Member in 1980.
Barry Frances Such
Joined the Lismore ‘Soccer’ Football Referees from a transfer from Rockhampton in Queensland in 1980 and was a member for 4 years.
He held the position of Vice President from 1980-1983 and was Delegate to all other ‘Soccer’ Football Associations from 1980-1983. He was the Branch and Regional Coach from 1980-1983.
Barry became a Life Member in 1983.
Deen Mohammed
Joined the Lismore ‘Soccer’ Football Referees in 1976.
He held the position of President from 1994-1996 and Vice President from 1980-1993. He was a member of the Appointments Panel from 1987-1988 and was a Delegate to all ‘Soccer’ Football Associations from 1983-1996. Deen was the Branch and Regional Coach from 1983-1998.
His highest achievement in refereeing was being a State League Referee.
Deen became a Life Member in 1987. He is also a Life Member of the Casino Referees and Casino ‘Soccer’ Football Club Inc.
Alexander ‘Sandy’ Smart
Joined the Lismore ‘Soccer’ Football Referees from a transfer from Sydney in 1981 and was a member for 17 years.
He held the position of President from 1985-1993, Vice President in 1984 and Treasurer from 1983-1984. He was also a member of the Appointments Panel from 1982-1985 and a Delegate to all ‘Soccer’ Football Association 1986-1993.
Alexander became a Life Member in 1988.
Kenneth Graham Hudson
Joined the Lismore ‘Soccer’ Football Referees in 1981 and was a member for 11 years.
He held the position of Treasurer from 1985-1987, was a member of the Appointments Panel in 1986 and was the Public Officer from 1988-2006.
Kenneth became a Life Member in 1991.
Joseph Lucien Pisani
Joined the Lismore ‘Soccer’ Football Referees from a transfer from Sydney in 1978 and was a member for 28 years.
He held the position of Secretary from 1993-2004 and was a Delegate to all ‘Soccer’ Football Associations from 1999-2002.
Joseph became a Life Member in 1997.
David ‘Dick’ Nolan
Joined the Lismore ‘Soccer’ Football Referees in 1986 was a member for 25 years.
He held the position of President from 2005-2010 and was Vice-President from 1993-2004. He was also the Chairman Of Appointments from 1990-2008, Branch Coach from 1999-2002 and was a Delegate to all ‘Soccer’ Football Associations from 1995-2008.
David became a Life Member in 1999.
Glen Darren Gibbs
Joined the Lismore ‘Soccer’ Football Referees in 1979 and was a member for 30 years.
He held the position of President from 1997-2004 and Vice President from 1995-1996. Was also a member of the Appointments Panel from 1986-1988, was Branch and Regional Coach from 1999-2007 and was a Delegate to all ‘Soccer’ Football Associations from 1997-2004. He has also been the Chairman of the Northern NSW Referees Standing Committee since 2006.
His highest achievement in refereeing was offiating on the National Soccer League (now known as the A-League) for eight seasons as an Assistant Referee and officiating on five International matches.
Glen became a Life Member in 2001.
William Kenneth Duffy
William came from the United Kingdom and joined the Lismore ‘Soccer’ Football Referees in 1986 and was a member for 9 years.
In 1995 he transferred to the Brunswick Byron Referees, where he held the position of President.
William became a Life Member of the Brunswick Byron Referees in 2001. In 2007, the Brunswick Byron Referees joined with the Far North Coast Referees and as part of this, all existing Life Members are now recognised as being Life Members of the Far North Coast Referees.
Kenneth George Cartwright
Joined the Lismore ‘Soccer’ Football Referees in 1986 from a transfer from Nepean-Blacktown where he was a Life Member. He was a member in Lismore for 2 years.
In 1988 he transferred to the Brunswick Byron Referees, where he held the position of Secretary.
Kenneth became a Life Member of the Brunswick Byron Referees in 2001. In 2007, the Brunswick Byron Referees joined with the Far North Coast Referees and as part of this, all existing Life Members are now recognised as being Life Members of the Far North Coast Referees.
Clive Julian Owen
Joined the Lismore ‘Soccer’ Football Referees in 1994 and was a member for 14 years.
He held the position of Vice President from 1999-2001, Chairman of Appointments from 1999-2004 and was the Branch and Regional Coach in 2007.
Clive became a Life Member in 2004.
Lee MacMaster
Joined the Lismore ‘Soccer’ Football Referees in 1996 and was an active member for 11 years.
In 2007, Lee transferred to Gladesville Hornsby Football Referees in Sydney, where he is now an active referee in the NSW State League.
He held the position of Branch Coach from 1999-2001 and from 2003-2005.
Lee became a Life Member in 2006.
Luke Mackney
Joined the Lismore ‘Soccer’ Football Referees in 2000 at the age of 16 and is still an active member.
He held the position of Secretary from 2004-2010, was a member of the Appointments Panel from 2003-2005 and was a member of the Football Far North Coast Referees Standing Committee from 2006-2010.
His highest acheivement in refereeing was being recognised as the 2009 Football Federation Australia Non-Professional Referee of the Year and being appointed as an official on the National Youth League Panel from 2009-2011.
Luke became a Life Member in 2009.
