The details for our Annual Referees Seminar have been finalised and are as follows:

Date: Sunday the 21st of February

Venue: Lismore Workers Sports Club, Goonellabah – 202 Oliver Avenue, Goonellabah

Time: Registrations for 2010 will begin at 8.45am. All members must arrive by NO LATER than 9.15am

Cost: There is no cost. Lunch will be provided, however you will need to buy your own drinks on the day.

This important and compulsory event in our calendar, as in previous years, is our first opportunity to come together as a group to discuss all topics relating to refereeing and also accept registrations of referees for 2010.

This year however, we have also organised guest speakers who are specialists in their chosen fields and will offer presentations on their areas of expertise. The speakers on the day and the topics they will be presenting include:

• Dr Stewart Hase – The Mental Side of The Game (Preparing yourself mentally for the challenges of refereeing)
• Emma Stewart – Nutrition and Diet (Everyday tips for the everyday referee)
• Ossie Bellamy (Northern NSW Referees Education Officer & A-League Inspector) – Player Management and Body Language

As well as this, Football Far North Coast General Manager Steve Mackney will be discussing issues relating to our partnership with his organisation and we will be discussing some important points related to administration and coaching in particular.

This seminar is compulsory for all referees from last year who are wanting to referee again in 2010 and we ask that ALL members from last year please send an email to our secretary, Luke Mackney, to confirm whether or not they will be attending.

Those who were not members last year but would like to referee in 2010 are also welcome to attend, however we ask that you please email our secretary first to confirm your attendance.

Referee Registration Costs for 2010 are the same as last year:

• Junior Referee (under 17 years of age): $110.00
• Senior Referee (turning 18 years of age or over this year): $130.00
