Last Saturday night saw the culmination of the 2009 season when the Far North Coast Referees Annual Presentation Dinner was held at the South Lismore Bowling Club.

A number of awards were presented on the night to those who have excelled in their refereeing pursuits this season. The recipients of these awards were:

• Corey New Trophy – Rookie Of The Year: Alex Waters
• Assistant Referee Of The Year: David Henville
• Alistair Watts Trophy – Most Improved Junior Referee: Shane Lee (North), Anthony Woolfe (South)
• Bob Beaumont Trophy – Most Improved Senior Referee: Josh Noble
• Joe Pisani Trophy – Most Consistent Referee: Tiarna Kinnear
• Female Referee Of The Year: Sarah Drake
• Glen Gibbs Trophy – Referee Of The Year: Luke Mackney
• Deen Mohammed Trophy – Referee’s Referee: Luke Mackney

Also on the night, Luke Mackney was recognised as our youngest Life Member and presented with his Life Members jacket by his proud parents, Stephen and Kerry. Luke was honoured for his hard work in a number of roles, including as Secretary for the past 6 years and Appointments Panel member for 3 years.

Thankyou to all those who helped setup on the Saturday morning/afternoon and also to Darren Butcher, who was the Master of Ceremonies and kept us all entertained throughout the evening.
